WHO IS DR. SANDRA? ​

Dr. Sandra Nkechi Uzodimma is a Nigerian banker, communications strategist, certified counselor, and maternal health advocate. She is known for her work in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and public relations, as well as her involvement in maternal health awareness, parenting education, and postpartum support initiatives in Nigeria.
 
Career
Uzodimma has developed a multidisciplinary career spanning banking and strategic communications, with a focus on stakeholder engagement and public relations. In addition to her corporate experience, she has provided advisory and counseling support to individuals and families, particularly in areas related to relationship management, family dynamics, and personal development.
As a certified counselor, her work includes supporting individuals and families dealing with emotional, social, and mental well-being challenges in everyday life.
 
Advocacy and Publications
Uzodimma’s involvement in maternal health advocacy is informed by her personal experiences as a mother. In response to challenges associated with pregnancy and the postpartum period, she authored Postpartum and Beyond, a book that discusses maternal health experiences and provides guidance on postpartum care and support.
 
Mom of Boys Nigeria
In 2020, Uzodimma founded Mom of Boys Nigeria, a parenting and maternal support platform focused on providing education, peer support, and community engagement for parents. The platform addresses parenting issues and maternal experiences through digital and community-based outreach. It also seeks to challenge prevailing stereotypes around motherhood and promote inclusive discussions on parenting in Nigeria.
Maternal Health Initiatives
Uzodimma has led and supported several maternal health–focused initiatives, including:
Creation and distribution of birthing kits to women in rural communities,
postpartum depression awareness campaigns, and
educational support programs for expectant and new mothers.
Her background in communications has been applied to maternal health advocacy through awareness campaigns and information dissemination aimed at improving access to maternal care resources and information.
 
Mom of Boys Cuisine
Uzodimma is the founder of Mom of Boys Cuisine, an initiative that focuses on nutritional support for breastfeeding and postpartum mothers. The program emphasizes dietary education and nutrition during the postpartum period.
 
Personal Life
Uzodimma is a mother and is involved in community-based initiatives related to maternal health and family support.
